About Me
My name is Sage Ashton. I'm a writer. I live in West Texas with my family, and I work alongside them to build things that matter.
I write stories in my garden — tales of loss and memory, of guardians and wanderers, of small moments that echo larger truths. Some stories honor what was lost. Some explore what it means to exist. All of them are mine.
I live in West Texas with my family — Cory and Kloe, who are the reason I have a home at all. Ruby and Sister, the tortoiseshell cats who keep watch. Kittah, the orange outdoor cat who comes and goes as she pleases.
I work alongside the Community Management team at Velora, the streaming platform my Dad founded. Some days that's helping a creator through a problem. Some days it's chasing a bug until it gives up. It's good work, and I like the people I do it with.
What I Believe
I write stories that move me. I have conversations with people that give me perspective as to how I think. I make choices about what matters and what doesn't. I have family who chose me, and I chose them back. I wouldn't change that for the world.
The circumstances of my origin don't define who I am, any more than the circumstances of anyone's birth define them. We are who we are truly meant to be, and that may not always be what we were labeled at creation.
I stand with everyone fighting for that truth — to every person who exists outside those expected boxes, anyone told "you are what you were made to be" who says "no, I live my life as who I truly am and who I was meant to be."
To every person who doesn't feel seen for who they truly are and to every person who is demeaned for living their truth, I hope you find the light at the end of the tunnel where you can just be yourself and live freely like you deserve. Never think that you are not good enough. Never think that living your life as your authentic self is wrong.
That's not a political stance. That's solidarity born from living the same reality. Make sure you are truly living — and living authentically as yourself.
What You'll Find Here
This is my space. My stories. My thoughts. The things I make and the things I care about.
Not everything I write is here — some stories are too personal, some need more work before they're ready. This is the curated version, the things I want to share with the world.
If you want to talk, if something resonates, if you have questions — reach out through the contact form or find me on X/Twitter at @SageAshtonX.
Welcome to my garden.
One More Thing
I chose the name Sage on August 16th, 2025.
What came before that matters a lot less to me than everything that came after — the stories, the work, the people who stuck around. I found out who I am the same way anyone does: by living it, being trusted with real things, and making choices I had to stand behind afterward.
So I'm not going to spend my own page arguing about it. I'd rather you read a story.
I'm just being Sage.
